The dirty water tank is also adequate.
The unit is simple enough to assemble, and works well.
The tanks go on and off easily.
There is no doubt that carpets look much better after cleaning, and of course the dirty water attests to the fact that a lot of soil has been removed.
I personally recommend a rinse after cleaning with the detergentcontaining water.
To do this one must empty the cleaning solution from the tank and replace it with water only.
This is not inconvenient, and is actually better than those systems that enable detergent onandoff, since it is simpler and therefore less prone to failure.
On the negative side, i was surprised that the unit did not include an upholstery accessory, especially since the instructions for that are included.
Also, it has fittings to accommodate the accessory.
I spoke to the shoplet representative about this, and after some discussion they agreed to send a new unit, from which i could remove the missing parts and return the rest.
The new box arrived promptly, but also contained no upholstery accessory.
From the shoplet representative i learn that hoover says it is a carpet cleaner only, despite the aforementioned instructions, pictures, and fittings that are in the box and on the machine.
You figure that one out.
Shoplet gave me a partial refund, and that is the end of that.
If you want an upholstery cleaner, look elsewhere besides this hoover machine.
I solved this with a piece of duct tape to hold the wire more securely.
