Your first task is to remove the bulk of the poop.
It may be hard and dried on to the carpet or worse still it could be runny diarrhea.
Firstly, remove the bulk of the cat poop using the paint scraper and place it in the dustpan.
Wipe off excess poop with a damp paper towel but try not to spread if further.
Spray the stain with a prewash laundry stain remover.
Use paper towels, to absorb as much of the moisture as possible.
Put the paper towel over the area and tread on the towel until it is saturated.
Then repeat with fresh towels until there is little or no moisture.
It is advisable that you test your carpet for color fastness in an inconspicuous area first.
